Why Is LinkedIn Important For Marketing?

Although LinkedIn seems to be more inefficient than other social networks in terms of marketing strategy, it actually has a great importance. Just as individuals can best express themselves in business terms on LinkedIn, the same applies to your brand. If you create an effective marketing strategy for your brand on LinkedIn, you will build professional relationships by creating brand awareness. In addition, you ensure that you get positive results in creating customer potential.

Thanks to the LinkedIn strategy, you can have advantages such as creating brand awareness and increasing traffic on your website. At the same time, you increase your chances of becoming a strong leader in the sector.

At this point, you need to follow some steps in order to create a successful LinkedIn marketing strategy:

1. Define Your Goals 

The type of content and the approach you use when publishing should be appropriate for your marketing strategy. It is very important to set your goals at this point. You can set these goals such as creating your brand awareness, strengthening your brand awareness, increasing your sales rates.

2. Try to Get to Know Your Target Audience Well 

In order for your LinkedIn marketing strategy to be created correctly, you need to determine your target audience very well. It is important who your target audience is, what they like and what they follow. This is because LinkedIn consists of sharper lines than other social media networks. You can use the analytics section on your page to better identify your target audience.  

3. Create a Featured Company Page 

Your page is the first place where your brand connects with your target audience. For this reason, adding details such as your company logo, website link, industry information, company size increases the account quality of your company and helps you make your LinkedIn marketing strategy stronger. In addition, you should also add a description that will contain details about your company and what it offers. Because one of the first places that attracts attention when someone enters your profile is the description section. 

4. Analyze the Company Pages of Competing Companies 

It is important for LinkedIn, as with other social networks, that you know the situation you are in relative to your competitors. 

Therefore, LinkedIn offers you a feature called ”Company Tracking". Thanks to this feature, you can get a list of similar companies engaged in similar activities with your company, as well as access to several main topics, such as the total number of followers, follower growth rate, and social media retention rate. 

Analyzing these pages allows you to understand how your own page compares to your competitors. You can define what are the factors that have a positive impact on pages that are in a better position than you, and you can try to adapt the tactics necessary for these factors to your own LinkedIn marketing strategy. 

5. Share Content that Attracts Attention and is Related to Your Company 

The way to interact with your target audience is to publish and share meaningful content that will allow you to keep the same frequency. The nature of your content determines the outcome of your LinkedIn marketing strategy. 

Sharing content on LinkedIn also requires a deep analytical competence about why people spend time on this platform. Because you should know why your followers might want to read the content you share. If you know this, it will be easier for you to share content that attracts their attention and allows them to continue following you. 

Regardless of the type of content you create, you should make sure that it is not content that explicitly markets your brand. Because this creates the opposite effect of what you are aiming for for your LinkedIn marketing strategy. 

In addition to sharing your own content, you can also adapt the attention-grabbing and useful content that you discover on other pages to your own page. This makes it easier for you to connect the same frequency with other brands. You should be careful not to spoil your originality while doing this. 

At this point, you can additionally avoid the bor October of posts consisting only of texts by adding descriptive sentence headings, eye-catching images, emojis appropriate to the content to your posts.

At the same time, you can use content-compatible hashtags in the content you share to further increase its visibility, because the use of hashtags is also very important for your LinkedIn marketing strategy.

6. Take Advantage of LinkedIn Analytics 

One of the most important parts of your LinkedIn marketing strategy is that you measure it regularly. 

You will see a table showing different parameters for each of your posts, such as clicks, reactions to the post. Thanks to these analytics, you can also analyze the performance of your updates. To be able to do this, you need to know how the “Updates” section in Company Page analytics works. 

This table also allows you to find out which types of content receive the most interactions. Thus, you can reshape your shares according to the interaction rates.
