Facebook Continues to Increase Its User Base After 20 Years of Existence!

This week marks the 20th anniversary of "Facebook," originally a side project by Mark Zuckerberg at Harvard, which has now become a global powerhouse used by nearly half of the world's population.

According to the latest statistics, Facebook has over 3 billion monthly active users. To put this into perspective, the world's population is approximately 8 billion. Considering the 1.4 billion people in China, where Meta's apps are not available, and the roughly 25% of the global population under the age of 15 (as Facebook requires users to be at least 13 to sign up), it shows that most people who can access Facebook actually do so regularly.

Moreover, Facebook's usage over time is increasing in terms of the number of monthly active users logging in daily. At the bottom of this graph, you can see the percentages reflecting the number of monthly active users logging in daily.

While Facebook may no longer be the popular and trendy app it once was and seems to have lost its appeal among younger audiences, it remains critical in many ways. Meta's own statistics indicate that people are spending more time on Facebook due to evolving AI content recommendations. This means more people are logging in more frequently and spending more time on their Facebook feed.

Third-party data, such as that from TikTok, shows users spending significantly more time on that app than on Facebook, and YouTube also sees more interactive usage. It appears that Facebook has lost some interest in this regard.
